The gunmen were said to have invaded the village, shot sporadically, some residents sustaining various degrees of injury in the process, burnt down several houses and rendering many residents homeless on Saturday.
The injured persons were taken to a private hospital in Dengi, headquarters of neighbouring Kanam Local Government Area, while some of the victims in critical condition were rushed to another hospital in Bauchi.
