Mubi - Nigeria soldiers are reportedly battling with Boko Haram insurgents over the control of Mubi town in Adamawa State, Punch reports.
Executive Director of Stefanos, Mark Lipdo, said that the military are turning back Nigerians running out of Mubi in reaction to the news of insurgents approaching Mubi town.
Following the aerial onslaught by the Nigerian Air Force on Bama at the weekend, leading to the forced retreat of Boko Haram terrorists from Borno’s second largest town, the insurgent launched a counter-offensive on Mubi on Sunday.
Nigerian warplanes are carrying out air strikes against Boko Haram militant bases in Bama, Borno state, a senior official said, in a government counter-attack against the group's apparent drive to create an Islamist enclave.
